Radiolucent image in lower third molar: hidden caries or pre-eruptive resorption?: a case report

ABSTRACT Caries is a multifactorial disease due to the imbalance of de/re-mineralization process. Complementary radiographic examinations are able detect hidden caries. The purpose this short communication was investigate radiolucent image suggestive caries in lower third molar. extraction tooth, decalcification, inclusion and preparation were performed for histological analysis lesion. Histological findings revealed pre-eruptive resorption, etiological factors coronary resorption undefined. professional should be aware occurrences these lesions early diagnose propose appropriate treatment avoid future complications patient.
